    Behavior shield reports infected item

I have installed an Avast on my windows xp system and i have noticed that there is 1 Infected Item in Avast's Behavior shield. I am aware of that this shields notices an activities on my computer system and detects and blocks any unusual activity that might indicate the presence of malware. Now the problem is that from where i can find that where this infection is.

As i have never used this Avast software so i do not know anything about its functions, So i wont be able to tell you that where can you find an infected file from an avast but i have another way by which it would be more simpler to detect malicious file on your xp system. You just have to scan your full computer system and if there would be anything malicious then your Avast will detect it, then you may remove it.

I have used an Avast anti virus when i was using windows vista on my system. I think there would be something like "show report file" where your Behavior shield is reporting an infected file. On clicking the show report file, You must get the file which is avast reporting as an infected one. Then you may take action on that file as per choice.

I have provided you the link from where you can download the Norton Anti Virus which is good competitor for avast in the market of security softwares. I suggest you to download NORTON on your system and then scan your whole computer, If there would be anything infected then you can easily delete it from your system. Make sure that you keep on updating this software time to time so that it can have all the information about all the latest viruses as well.

I was having the similar kind of problem on my latest Avast 5 as when i updated it then there was an infected file in Behavior shield but when i tried to open it by pressing the Show Report File button then nothing happened. Actually then i have found way to deal with it. You have to go to the Summary where you have click on the Statistics which will be showing all the activities.

I have seen lots and lots users who all are having many kind of problem with an Avast update. I guess avast have not made a better update which can solve the problem of an older version. But instead of doing that, It is showing new problem which are much annoying. I suggest you to directly install the avast 5 on your system which might not be having such silly problems. There could be something wrong with the updating file.

Your Avast Anti Virus software has been corrupted because of the some virus on your system. You have to clear all those viruses from your system and then remove all the detected viruses from your system. I think you need to reinstall the avast on your system and then there might not be anything wrong with the Behavior shield.
