PC reboots after combofix attempted rootkit removal

Currently I am running windows 7 on my computer system and the antivirus I am using is avast. The problem is that my asvast antivirus has stopped working on my system from the last two days, hence there are rootkits everywhere. I have anti malware on my system it detected some of the threats on my system but when I tried to link it with avast antivirus then it is giving me the alert that there are rookits present. Finally I have used the combofix for solving this problem and it discovered some of the rootkit activity and displayed a message that it needs to reboot, after that my system is not coming up. I need the solution for this problem or the answer to the question that why PC reboots after combofix attempted rootkit removal.

I have a vostro 1510 with XP recent victim of the virus TR / rootkit.gen. If someone could help neutralize this beast. I have tried the antivirus software but it did not help me solve the problem. I have downloaded the combofix, to resolve this issue but I think that I have done something wrong, is there anyone who can provide the solution for this problem.

Download Combofix to your desktop (and nowhere else) and rename it before they land on your desk. Do right-click on ComboFix.exe , choose "save target as ..." and rename it in the location chosen for machin.exe your desktop and click on "save" Double click ComboFix.exe to start the scan and follow the instructions given by combofix. If Combofix asks you ask permission to download and install the Windows Recovery Console, accept and follow the instructions. When the scan is complete, a report will appear, saves it on your desktop. Restart your pc absolutely!

I followed the procedure that you have shown and there was something not nice. I started combofix, who performed the scan and released the report. But when I wanted to save the report on my desk my computer restarts itself. Instead of seeing the logo of Windows I had a blue screen telling me that my computer was blocked to prevent damage. I waited, rebooted and got a black window which offered me the following choice: - Start Windows - Start the Recovery Console. I tried one then the other, but it ended in failure.

Do not restart combofix, otherwise it will re-planting. Combofix deleted a driver has caused system patched by infection kind ATA driver. Your friend has had a good reaction to have to attempt the repair without loss of data via CD. You will need to do a scan with TLO, this one does not delete anything, so it should go. Just hope that the scan shows nothing problematic.

Try this for solving the problem. Download >> OTL " on your desktop. Does a double-click on the icon to launch OTL. Ensure you have closed all applications running short. When the window appears OTL, assures you that in the "Output" (top right) box "minimum Output" is checked. Check the box located in front of "Scan All Users", "LOP Check" and "Purity Check. Copy and paste the contents of this quotation in the lower part of OTL "Custom scanx / fixed". Click on the icon "RunScan" (top left). Let the scan go to completion without you use the PC. At the end of the scan one or two reports will open "OTL.Txt" and (or) "Extras.Txt" (in some cases). Copy and paste the report or reports in your answer stp. If you can find them in the folder C: \ OTL or on your desk based on cases encountered.

I had same problem on my system(vista basic)ran program to remove malware, and when combofix rebooted my pc was fried and refusing to restart, luckily i was able to use recovery manager in safe mode to restore system back to it original factory condition, though had to reinstall all my programs and software from scratch which was a pain but everything back working normally.

Disables security software (antivirus, antispyware) then: Download Combofix sUBs: ComboFix.exe and save it on your desktop and not elsewhere! Double-click combofix, accept the license agreement and let you drive. If no better, tried in safe mode without network support: Reboot in Safe Mode, for that, restart the computer before the Windows logo, tap the F8 key, a menu will appear, select Safe Mode seconded and the enter key on the keyboard.
