    Hi Altair,
This can be easily done but before doing anything you need to check the network configuration and then you can enter the make these ports available. You may need to check with your ISP, and be sure that they do not restrict those ports upstream. And one thing that you need to be sure that you have to switched off the activity of any firewall or virus software to find this and then switched this back on again . If it performs with those off you will have to communicate with that software's support for any type of help and support . If you still having problems then please feel free to post your problems .

I am having similar problems . I have serached a lot on the google results for this problems and find not a single fix, and a lot of unsolved posts like this.

I have the current configurations as follows :

Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
Windows Firewall active with exceptions associated carefully for port 2077 tcp and port 2077 TCP.
There is no AV software already installed.
Lenovo T61 laptop with 3gb RAM, 240GB hd
Router: Linkys WRT400N. Port forwarding triggering added for port 2077 tcp and port 2077 TCP. Linksys techs say there is no other config needed to open these ports for this router.
    ISP: Atlantic Broadband.
Host: Hostgator running cPanel Version 11.25.0-STABLE, Build 44718, Kernel version 2.6.33.1, cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC1)
Other host: Hostmonster running cPanel Version 11.25.0-RELEASE, Build 43473, Kernel version 2.6.28-10.21.intel.IGB.BHsmp, cPanel Pro 1.0 (RC1)

So, I carefully gone through the suggestions for making a webdisk account with every host. I create the webdisk account with the primary host, downloaded the .vbs file, install the appropaite certificate, issued in the credentials but the login is rejected . There is no any error message at all , just the login dialog box repeatedly getting up. I thpought that this was something going wrong with the primary host, there is no result at all ???

Re: Open port 2078 and 2077 for WebDisk installation

    Hello everyone,

I need to get the access to my webdisk but when I need to access that then I get the error message and suggesting that

" There was a problem connecting to Webdisk service. Please make sure port 2077-2078 are not firewalled"
I am not getting what should I do in this situation and also I have tried so many troubleshooting as well as I did open two new ports from the system services panel but still have the similar issue and the same error message ...I am working on Windows 7.

Have you any router ? If so, they would have to be configured in that also, as they commonly have a hardware firewall already in. You would, obviously have to discuss its manual on how to perform this.

LAN IP: ip address of the machine with the webdisk
    Description: Provide it a name
Protocol: whichever protocol it works upon. if you are able to choose "both TCP and UDP", us it. otherwise just choose tcp
    LAN port: 2077-2078
    Port: 2077-2078
    Enabled: checked

And then after click onto the "set" and it should do it in the way .
