USB Driver for Starcom UT300R2U ADSL2+ Modem

I have a Starcom UT300R2U ADSL2+ Modem which is currently connected to my computer running on Windows XP. The modem has two ports on it, one is an Ethernet port and other is USB port. I want to upgrade the operating system on the computer to Windows 7 and connect the modem to the computer using a USB port. Therefore I want to know if there are any USB Driver for Starcom UT300R2U ADSL2+ Modem which are to be installed on the computer for making the modem work? If yes then where can I find the drivers? Any help is highly appreciated.

I think the modem which you are using will not be supported by the Windows 7 operating system as it is too old. Windows 7 has lot of compatibility issues with many of the devices which are available. The compatibility issue rises due to unavailability of the required drivers. You will have to buy a new model of the modem to make it work on Windows 7.

You can still use the modem using Ethernet port on the modem in Windows 7. You will have to configure the network settings on the router and the system according to the operating system installed on the computer. Once the configuration is properly done, you will be able to the modem using the Ethernet port of the modem.

According to me there is no separate driver to be installed on the computer for the modem in Windows 7. All the drivers which are required for making the devices connected work, are already present in the Windows 7. These drivers get installed on the computer when the device is connected to it. Therefore I would suggest that you install Windows 7 on the computer and connect the modem to the computer using the USB port.

As suggested I installed Windows 7 on the computer and connected the modem to the computer using the USB mode. The system prompted that all the drivers are installed on the computer and the device is working fine but still there is no internet connection available on the computer. Am I missing something?

Reset the modem to the factory settings and then configure the modem again as per the settings provided by the ISP. To configure the modem again, you will have to login to the router using the default IP address of the modem. After configuring the modem again, you will be able to access internet on the computer.
