version 1.3 at 100% CPU hog of syslogd, and a huge system.log file

Good day, I have spent my whole time in troubleshooting my Macbooks fan because, it was racing at 6200 rpm, and why my CPU was pegged at 100% usage as well as my temperatture was at 210 F. Last night, I got the iAntiVirus update notification that version 1.3 was ready and I installed that then moved to sleep .

When, I woke up in the morning , I got my Macbook at 210 F and entirely broken loose. My whole system was getting very slow, jerky, and overheating. After finding a lot about this on the net, about why the syslogd process would consume 100% of CPU, and moving down all types of dead-ends, it became apparent that system.log was abnormally large in size.
By looking at the text in the system.log file, I noticed that there was thousands if not millions of recent entries for iAntiVirus in there. So I uninstalled iAntiVirus, and everything went back to normal. I thought somebody would require to know. please give some helpful information

Thanks for your effort and the possible suggestion but I need to tell you something. Actually, I am working with the latest version 1.32. I was at that point but I just got the same issue again where your process was chewing up 98% of the CPU (I issues the Unix command line argument as "top" to find out this). Still running with the same problem and if you have any suggestion regarding this then please let me know how to resolve this ...

Please would you provide me the following information as stated below :

    • What different software, you are running or installed on your Mac
    • Which one model of your Mac, you are using .
    • The output of the top command, OR
    • Whether it is syslogd or iavd using up your CPU time
    • Did you primarily install v1.32 or did you have different version and then Smart Updated to 1.32

If anything additional information would be better to solve your issues ..

I am also running with the similar issue on the two Macs on which I have already installed the iAntiVirus . I have had syslogd process which is consuming 100%+ of the cpu on both system and the machine getting slow down and it is not being unusable anymore . A forced restarting didn't help at all but running applejack at least temporarily resolved the issue. I also had iavd consuming 100%+ CPU on my system but I was able to exit from the iAntivirus and the process terminated immediately and neither issue has returned.
My Mac is installed on Mac Book Pro
    1- 16GHz C2D
    2- GB ram
    Mac OS 10.5.6

We have been unable to remake such issue but if the issue does generate once again, could you please provide the following information to me to get it resolved :

    • Screenshot of iAntiVirus main screen?
    • Output of the top command?
    • Screenshot of activity monitor?
    • What type of hardware is connected and being used with the Mac? For example : TV tuner, external hdd, wireless - time capsule disk etc.

What you were doing during that when the problem get generated ? Once we get the absolute information as above, we will be able to investigate it further.
