WiFi Connection issue on 7 inch Netbook

I am facing a weird problem with the new netbook which I have bought. I have recently bought a new 7 inch netbook which is installed with Windows XP. The problem which I am facing is that I am not able to connect to any of the wireless network. I have a Dlink wireless router which is connected to my desktop computer using wired connection. Whenever I try to connect the netbook to the router, it shows that the netbook is connected but no there is no Internet access available. So if anybody else is facing similar WiFi Connection issue on 7 inch Netbook then please suggest some solution. Thanks in advance.

I think the network card which is installed on the computer is not working properly. The main function of the network interface card is to establish and maintain the connection to the network. Hence if the network interface card is not working properly the device will not connect to the network. Hence check the network interface card by pinging the software interface port. Click on start and select Run. Type "ping 127.0.0.1" and hit enter. If there are any errors in data sent and received then you will have to replace the network interface card as it is faulty.

DHCP which is running on the router is responsible for assigning IP addresses to all the devices which are connected to the router using Wireless connection. Hence if the DHCP on the router are not working properly then the devices will not be able to access all the resources of the network. Connect the router to the computer using a console cable and open the configuration of the router. Disable the DHCP on the router and then enable it again. After enabling the DHCP on the router, save the configuration and then check if the netbook is able to connect to the router.

All the devices which are connected to the computer require a set of drivers to be installed on it for proper working. If the drivers which are supported by the device are not installed then the device will not work. To check if the appropriate drivers are installed and working on the computer, right click on my computer and select Device manager. Follow troubleshooting procedure if there are any caution signs. Try and update the drivers if the troubleshooting does not help.

Check if there is any firewall or antivirus installed on the netbook. Sometimes the security softwares installed on the computer block the traffic desired by the user which gives rise to such problem. Hence try and disable the firewall or the antivirus which is installed and then see if the Internet can be accessed on the netbook or not. You can also move the process of the browser in the good known application list of the firewall to avoid further problems.

For sharing the same internet connection on different computers, the router has to be configured properly. If the router is not configured properly, the devices will not be able to access the router. Hence login to the router and then open the configuration page.
To login to the router by entering default IP address of the router in the address bar of the browser. Provide the correct user name and password. Open the configuration page and check if the router is configured properly. If there are any changes to be made, do it and save the configuration. Reboot the router and see if the netbook is able to connect to the router

The operating system which is installed on the netbook must be having some files which are corrupt due to which the netbook is not able to connect to the router. There are many files which are associated to the operating system of the computer. If any of the files which is associated to the operating system is corrupt or missing then the operating system will not work properly. Insert the installation disk of the operating system which you are using and boot the system from the drive. Select Repair the currently installed version of Windows Option and let the procedure complete. After the completion of procedure, see if the netbook is able to connect to the router.
