Modem connection / configuration in linux

    Hello,
I have a script for modem connection (ADSL) that I run in a console. Can someone explain to me how to run the script automatically at startup of KDE. Also, if someone has a alternative script for doing the same the please let me know. Any help regarding this topic is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Start the KDE and at the root time, there are two options for you
    - be put in the file / etc / rc.d / rc.local
command line that launches your connections either (on distrib system in V)
    - create a shell file in / etc / rc.d / init.d and start making
    - create a link to the directory of your init default (RC.2 or 3 or 4 or 5)
with the same name that starts with 99

    Hello,
Through the files shown the launch is done at boot as root, therefore not need password. KDE I do not know probably in the rc file (resource), but why only in KDE? If the reason is that you do not desire a connection to that after watching the side of the log file. Profile (or. Bash profile) used with sudo (man sudo) to avoid having to type the root password. But this way you will have to edit each user can access the net.

Re: Modem connection / configuration in linux

    Hello,
I do not want to specifically limit the connection to KDE. For me, the only request is to be connected when I'm in my desktop environment. It can therefore be fair to the best time for Linux (or at the most logical ...) Small clarification: I use as a firewall so I assume that the connection should be established only after my firewall is enabled.
