For solving your problem you have to try following things
    1) You have to disable the SPI firewall on the CG814WG.
    2) Then forward the Port which is you used for your IRC client.
    3) Then Ping on WAN Port for responding.
    4) Use Ethernet if you are currently using wireless.
After that restart network setting and then restart your computer and then open any IRC site and I think using this solution you able to access this site.

Try to use following few steps, after using this you may able to solve your problem.

    1. you have a bigpond netgear cable wireless modem version of netgear is cg814wg first thing is you have to upgrade the firmware to V2.0.14_1.0.14
    2. Store or Write down your entire router settings first and then manually renter them after the upgrade
    2. Do not try to restore a previous backup if suppose there is any problem old setting then you may restore this problem also for that don’t restore enter all the setting manually
    3. Set Idle to 0 (zero)
    4. Use an IP address not 'sm-server' for the authentication server setting eg. 53.6.127.13 or whatever is correct for your area.
    5. After saving all the setting don't forget to 'log out' from BP before doing any of this otherwise you lost all the setting and then you have to re enter all the setting for that log out and restart all the setting.
I think after that you may not need to use any other solution for that.

I think this is a virus problem in your system and because this you face this problem, maybe it is a worm attach on your system because I also face this same problem this problem occur when you accept or download any file or click on any link and because of this maybe you goes infected and for solving this problem you have to format your computer and the reinstalled it, properly update your antivirus and firewall also because of this you save your computer from this issues.
