    JS/Gamburl.E trojan redirecting Google Chrome

This is happening from the last one week. Whenever I use Google Chrome web browser, I am getting redirected to some arbitrary websites, which I am not aware of or not even visited ever before. I have been using Google Chrome from the last one year, but never had this redirection problem. I have heard that the JS/Gamburl.E trojan is responsible for such redirection. But my McAfee anti virus had not detected any such threats.

    Scan in Safe Mode

Update your anti virus database and then scan your computer. If it is still not detecting any virus or trojan then boot your computer in Safe mode. The problem of browser redirecting to an unknown or a malicious web site is known to be caused by some viruses or trojans. Therefore if these illegal programs are not detected in normal mode then you can use the Safe mode to scan your computer. To boot your computer in Safe mode you need to keep on pressing the function key F8 when the computer displays its vendor logo screen on boot-up.

JS/Gamburl.E trojan detected in safe mode

As suggested I had used the safe mode booting option to detect the infected threat. Using my McAfee anti virus when I scanned my computer in Safe Mode it detected a JS/Gamburl.E trojan infection as expected. But the problem here is that this trojan is not getting deleted from my computer. I think I have to change my anti virus. Provide some valuable suggestions to remove this trojan and also anti virus to be installed.

Uninstall Google Chrome and use some other Web Browser

The Google Chrome by many has been rated a not so user friendly web browser. Also the web browser is also prone to many network malicious infection. I had used this Google Chrome but the browsing was too slow and I also had the redirecting issue. I uninstalled Google Chrome and now I am using the Mozilla Firefox, which I feel is more fast and safe to browse in. You may use Mozilla Firefox or the Internet Explorer 8 or even the Apple Safari or Opera Web browsers.

    Anti-virus other than McAfee

I too used McAfee anti-virus, but of late I have also switched to Norton Internet Security anti-virus. The reason being that there were many viruses, trojans, worms, malware which the McAfee anti virus was not detecting and if detected was not able to cure or delete it. There are many reliable anti-viruses which you may use instead of McAfee these include Norton, AVAST, Kaspersky, Symantec, Avira and many more. Always use an official original installation software of any anti-virus that you select.
