Remove Trojan.Agent/Gen-Virut

Hello friends,

My brother has went out for vacation, so he had given his Dell laptop to me and everything was working until i opened and email from my friend, when i open his attachment my laptop got hang up and i reboot my laptop and after that it was working slow, so i run my anti virus and came to know that my laptop is being infected with Trojan.Agent/Gen-Virut. Does anyone knows how to remove Trojan.Agent/Gen-Virut.

Trojan.Agent/Gen-Virut is a Trojan whose work is to log user information an block access to certain security sites. At the same time they appear to serve a legitimate purpose but actually have an unwanted or harmful effect. You will also see a large segment of trojan programs are being downloaded from other harmful software components to a user's PC without his/her knowledge.

My computer also got infected with such kind of virus if you really want to remove this virus from your system then press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and kill WINUPD.EXE by going to Process tab and then click on start go to run option and type regedit, now registry window would get open over here find out for WINUPD registry and delete them and finally reboot your system now your system is free from Trojan.Agent/Gen-Virut.

Thanks for your suggestion mellisahi, i had try to delete WINUPD.EXE from process tab and i had also deleted WINUPD from registry but still when i try to run my anti virus it say that my system is being infected with Trojan.Agent/Gen-Virut, but now my system is working fast as compared to early. Does anyone knows any good anti virus, adware or spyware which can totally remove trojan from my system.

if you really want to overcome from Trojan.Agent/Gen-Virut then i would suggest you to install SUPERAntiSpyware which is capable of removing Trojan.Agent/Gen-Virut and at the same time it also protect our system from spyware, adware, malware, rootkits, worms, trojans, keyloggers, bots etc. I am sure this would definitely remove Trojan from your computer if it not then finally you have to reinstall your Operating system.
