    The error coming (i.r error 10) is due to the drivers corruption and/or not install correctly. Firstly, check which version of Windows XP your are using is it 32 or 64 bit. So, install the drivers according to them, i.e if you using 64bit and installing the 32bit compatible drivers, then i would create error like this only. So, check the drivers and install them correctly and this error will get fix.

    I am also facing the same problem(i.e LAN error 10 ) as above. I have tried man ways to installed every/each driver including the one above(Lan) and still no working. I have also done of re-installing all the motherboard drivers and firmware but that also does not seems to be working either. One more thing to note that the wireless card on my motherboard works superbly, which make me more angry and restless. Help me to solve this problem.

    This error mainly due to the incorrect version/type of drivers installing on the machine. Check that the driver you are installing for LAN is compatible with your desktop or not. And after downloading and installing the correct drivers for LAN and you get same error again, then would suggest you to make report file of this error and send it your(i.e DELL company) computer's company technical support team. They will give perfect solution.

    According to me this error is the onboard Ethernet Adapter problem. Firstly, uninstall all the Enther Adapter drivers from Device manager(Right Click on My Computer-- Properties--Hardware). Now, search for your windows xp(32 or 64bit which ever installed) compatible drivers, download them and install on the machine. Now reboot the computer and check error would gone. Hope your problem will get fix.

    I think that there is the problem with the Intel NIC driver(LAN card) ,which is not installed correctly. The copy of drivers you would be having is corrupted. Download the NIC drivers compatible to you machine or update the current drivers from Intel site. Also check that you machine is infected by some virus or trojan horse, which can also corrupt the drivers. Hope the problem will get fix soon.

    Follow the following steps :
    1. Settings -> Control Panel.
    2. System -> Device Manage.
    3. Choose the network adapter -> properties -> resources unchecked the box "use automatic settings"
    4. Choose the Change setting -> "edit input/output range"
    5. Using other value along with no conflicting device -> Click OK. Then Go Device Manager and verify if the yellow exclamation point can be still there.
