The machinery that make up Internet Explorer are forcefully included into the Windows environment, so if you are making changes in it then it affects numerous other programs together with Outlook (Express) and Windows Media Player. A straight forward example is the well known search engine which is the Google. If you typing a wrong spelling then you are redirected to a different site. Just use a good antivirus. In this you have the fifth zone in the form of My Computer, but this is generally not configurable. ActiveX pedals that were installed on the computer by Windows run in this zone. The pedals you download do not. Also URLs that orientation files on your computer run in My Computer (files you save from the Internet persist to run in the sanctuary zone attached to that site though).
