What are the drawbacks of Decentralization

    Hi,
I am not familiar about the Decentralization. Centralized servers are widely used due to security. But what about Decentralization. What are the drawbacks of planting a Decentralized server. I need some suggestion on the architecture of the same. I had installed and configured many single server machines. But if there is a demand for this one then what things should be considered in the mind. Thanks in advance.

Another architecture of P2P is decentralized. Gnutella is a representative of the P2P architecture. Here, more servers to common sense everyone is both client and server. This poses a problem that mostly does not occur with a centralized architecture how to know the network topology. When a client wants to connect, it will be necessary to send a message broadcast to find out what others in the network are active. Only these people will respond to the message broadcast. It is then connected to the network.

To keep it connection consistent in a decentralized server a user is not directly connected to more than 3 or 4 options. During the search, each node propagates the query to its neighbors , which are the same. The number of spread is limited (usually 7), and it is possible to detect cycles through the packet identifier. The benefit of the same is The size of such a network is theoretically infinite, unlike other architectures with the number of customers depends on the number and power of servers.

Re: What are the drawbacks of Decentralization

The positive aspects of a Decentralized server is that the use of such a network is anonymous, i.e it is impossible to identify someone voluntarily. It is very tolerant to network faults. And the entire system adapts well to dynamic network. This makes it more in use and frequently. Because this of this the same is accessed easily.

There are some major drawback under such kind of network server. First it consumes major bandwidth of consumer. There is no guarantee of success or estimate the length of queries. There is also no security or reputation (no concept of quality of peers, or data provided). And the other point is there is a problem of free-riding of those who do not share files.

The term Centralization defines the control on network. That means you have an DNS server which is regulated by the single administrator. This is very much considered in big enterprises for many security reasons. And on the contrary Decentralization means an environment which is much more similar to internet. Here there is no central control.
