Hi. I have a desktop machine installed with windows 7 as the operating system in it. Also I have a Pch a110 streaming device and want to connect 1Tb external hard disk to it by connecting it to the back panel of the pch device. I want to map drive the device so that it could work with the system. I am not able to do it. Please help me out. Thank you.

You can create or map the drive using the connector with both devices. It has to fulfill certain parameters. Supposingly it has more than one USB port then you may need to change the a-1 bit. This will enable you to work or write with the help of smb network protocol. You can do it without keeping the things in concern what formatting it has. This will help you out.

There is another way through which you can make the things to work or to function well. It can be by using a FTP to transfer files. This is one of the easiest way through which you can make the things to work well. However you need to assign ip address relevantly to both the device on your system and hence you could then make the device to get connected well and hence this shall work out well for you.

Creating a network bridge between both the device will let you to create and setup the process well enough. This requires ip addressing in order to bridge both the devices. You could get or set the address well in order to get the things properly undertaken so that the device can then respond. Hope this would work out for you. Creating a network bridge will make the things to work for you.

Mapping the drive needs to assign Ip address so that the system could actually map the drive accordingly. Also the device been connected to the system needs an ethernet cable for fast data transfer in order to proper management of the transmission. You need to check out for the portability of the cable that you are using to connect the device. Only then you could connect the device to the system.

There are certain factors that has to be taken into consideration in order to connect the device to the system. Your system should be very much compatible with the device that is been attached and should respond well to it. This is the thing that has to be seen also you need to check that the application for smb is been installed well in order to make it to function properly. This would make the things to wrok out for you well.
