    HP Pavilion infected by Agent/Gen-Fake

    HELP !!! I have HP pavilion desktop. Recently i have installed the latest Internet Explorer 7. From the day i have installed it, my computer does not work properly and it is working too slow. My anti virus has detected the virus called Agent/Gen-Fake. But i am unable to delete that virus. Can anybody help me with that ?

    Mostly, there would be a problem with your anti virus program. Just reinstall your anti virus and scan it again. If it detects that same virus after deleting it then all you can do is change your anti virus. I think Norton Anti Virus is the best resolving such kind of problems. After installing this anti virus do not forget to restart your computer as it need some settings to be done.

    Well,I think your computer has been threatened because of Internet Explorer 7 that u have in your computer. May be the link from which you have installed it was damaged by virus. You must reinstall the new copy of Internet Explorer except the one you have now because it is possibly happen that your copy would be having that virus also in it.

    No Worries, Its just a minor category's virus which you can delete with any of the anti virus. If it is not possible for you then you can use the safe mode. Just reboot your computer, while restarting your computer keep on pressing the F8 key which takes you to the black screen. Select your options by using arrow keys as your mouse will be disabled.
