How to stop VSMON.exe from using 98% on my CPU time

I'm running Windows Xp as my operating system. I have a zonelabs folder in windows Xp system32. My computer freezes on me, task manager says vsmon.exe (SYSTEM) is using 98% of the CPU cycles so nothing else gets to run, including my browser or office programs.I would like to know that how can i stop VSMON.exe from using 98% on my CPU time? How can i stop this without leaving my computer firewall/anti-virus free? Does any body knows about it? Please help me out to resolve the above issue. Thanks.

Vsmon is a service that is installed by ZoneAlarm Pro. In the right pane, double-click DependOnService. "vsmon.exe" is a core component of the ZoneAlarm personal firewall, which monitors Internet traffic and generates alerts by following the security rules that users configure within Zone Alarm. In the Edit Multi-String dialog box, you will see a list of items that might include Afd, RpcSs, and Vsdatant. Add W3SVC to the end of this list, and then click OK."

Any malware can be named anything so you should check where the files of the running processes are located on your disk. Does it not take up system resources because it is looking at the information? Run a full scan of your PC once a week for spyware and Viruses, might be your system may have got infected with a virus. I suspect you have spyware problems. Run adawarese or some other spyware cleaner. this might be a start to your solution.
