    Problem scanning with anti-virus

I have a small problem. I use an Athlon with Windows XP SP2. My browser is Firefox. Antivirus is avast but also tried trial version of Kaspersky 2010 (currently)

My problems began with firefox crashes while surfing the internet. Upon turning the PC started to do the memory scan and found nothing. One day I had messages on startup of windows on damaged files: userinit.exe, trebucit.ttf. Apart from that I had no problems.

I do a full scan with Avast, it reboots before the end of the scan! I turned my avast and also putting kaspersky into trial is impossible to complete such a scan.

I disabled auto restart, since it gives me a crash windows instead: dark blue page. Same with spybot

I did scan in Safe Mode, then the computer crashes before the end.

Well, I do not know quite what to do, and as I am not very good I ask for your help!

I am not very good either but blocking happens always after the same time roughly? memory problem? graphics card? the battery on the motherboard to change - it is perhaps a little tired? - Its not something very expensive that can change. You did not specify when was your hardware bought.

On the software side the presence and the installation of malware. Given the inability to check / clean the disk, remove it and install on a healthy and well protected computer for analysis. Then load the malwarebytes with the free version.

And for the light, make a "clear CMOS", the BIOS may be infected? not at all sure, but at the point where it is ...

Hello and thank you for your help! My computer was bought on 2003. If I leave my computer on and I do not do scans there is no reboot! It's really happens with specific scans. Unfortunately I have no opportunity to test my HDD on another computer now. But I'll try your anti-malware even on the current config, you never know! I'll keep you informed of the outcome, and thank you again for the helping hand!

Go and get DrWeb Live Cd. It is the only one who managed to get repaired (not remove) the most-infected files on a pc achieved by infection type Virut which has the distinction of making the most ineffective antivirus software. Boot from the CD that eliminates the problems associated with Windows.
