Image Transfer From PC to Mac

I always take my mac book to the university with me and want to take to music and the images of my PC and to have them with me, but I do not want slower equipment, so we want to put them in a external hard disk. But I'm that is not safe of how doing it, what type of external hard disk I must buy, or if it is possible to be transferred archives between equipment Mac and PC. Somebody knows something?

There are many ways to transfer data (files) from a PC to a Mac, including:

• using the "PC Data Transfer Service" at Apple Retail Stores & Apple Specialists
• using Move2Mac
• using a portable hard drive or storage device
• using a CD or DVD burner
• using other portable media
• using a shared file server
• using email
• using a .Mac iDisk
• using a direct Ethernet connection
• installing the PC's hard drive in the Mac

Music and photos in fact do not have to restrain your Mac down. From my experience it is good for having your music and photos in the machine so that it has as long as it is not needed to have a connected hard disk in the maintenance of your portable Mac. Also supposing that a portable external hard disk is bought that is that not to drain the batteries so fast. Transference is simple, drags music in the hard disk of its present iTunes, of expulsion of the unit, are connected to your Mac, open the unit and to again drag music in a window of iTunes. The same with the images, except Drag in iPhoto.

iTunes adds " optimization" , small versions of TV of quality of the photos to iPod so that you see. When you have the option " To include photos complete Resolute" verified that also adds copies in the original format for iPod so that it can happen it wishes if it from a computer to another one. Songs in iPod that came from sources different from the store iTunes Store can reclaim by means of some of the services public or the method manual since I have said previously.
