    Microsoft MN-500 router configuration

I am having Microsoft's MN-500 router. I want to configure this router for my new ISP connection. But the problem is that I don't have the manual for this router and so I don't know how to configure this. Can you help me how to configure Microsoft MN-500 router?

Have you tried resetting your router? If you can then get into it by typing 192.168.2.1 on your web browser. It may ask you for username and password which is "admin" by default. Since your router is quiet older, I would strongly recommend you to update your firmware. Now configure your router by inserting all the information provided by your ISP on your router and then saving the settings.

To configure Microsoft MN-500 router, first log on manually to the Base Station Management Tool as follows:
    1. In the Microsoft Internet Explorer address bar, type 192.168.2.1, and then press ENTER.
    2. On the Base Station log on page, type the log on password. The factory default password is "admin".

Now to configure your ISP settings follow these steps:
    1. In the left pane of the Base Station Management tool, click Wide Area Network.
    2. Under Internet Connection Type, click the appropriate connection type for your WAN type (Dynamic, Static, or PPPoE). Depending on the connection type you may have to enter additional configuration information such as IP address, user name, and password.
    3. Click Apply to save the changes.

To configure the Microsoft MN-500 router from the Base Station Management Tool

    1. Configure the TCP/IP properties of each computer that you want to connect to your network.
    2. On the computer which is directly connected to the router, open any Web browser, and type in 192.168.2.1 in the address bar.
    3. When asked for login, type your password. The default password is "admin".
    4. On the Management menu, click Change Password, and then create a new base station password.
    5. Click Wide Area Network. On the Wide Area Network page, select the type of Internet connection, and then enter the settings provided by your ISP.
    6. On the Security menu, click Wireless Settings, and then create your wireless security settings.
    7. Turn on your broadband modem (if any), and then check the status of the Broadband Connection on the Home page of the Base Station Management Tool. If the status is Disconnected, click Renew or Connect.
