How to setup wireless internet at home?

Hello friends,

I recently bought a HP mini wireless notebook and Netgear router.I have DSL internet connection through a modem.Now i would like to share some of my files on my compaq pc with my mini wireless.I know which need some kind of cable to let the 2 pc's to "see" each other, but not sure what kind of cable, how can i possibly do it.

You said the mini laptop have a wireless built-in modem if your router is also wireless, it can be done via wireless as well a cable.For most routers have cable and wireless capabilities which has dual connection now for the wired connection you may prefer the ether net cable(LAN cable)

If your router has a wireless capability you can adopt an usb flash drive wireless adapter,so that you can stay away from this wires. I am using wireless Adapters and that can catch others wireless.But if you are scared to install a card into the computer, look for a PCI or PCI-E Wireless Adapter. Some Newer Computers don't have a PCI Slot as most are trying to go to PCI-E

You can hook up the computer using a LAN cable i know little here but continue use your router but you can share them through the router in order for you to view the other computer you must have each computer checked for sharing.To accomplish that go to the c drive and right click and select properties and turn the sharing option to on
