I like the Spybot Search & Destroy. There are many more free and better Antispy applications are available. And many more are available with 15 days trial , like CounterSpy is also good one.

I've always been a AVG fan. i"ll say go for AVG. There are many more like:
- Avast has Antivirus , anti-spyware and anti-rootkit, all are for free.
- You can clean that infection with Spyware Doctor.
- I have heard great comments for AD-ADWARE also.

Why don't you use the microsoft's own anti-spyware program that is "Windows Defender" .
