How do i test VDI on Windows Xp

I had installed Windows Xp as my operating system. I would like to start looking in the process but not sure whether putting XP desktops on my current ESX host ( ESX 3.5 / VC 2.5 / SAN) will be the same thing as really testing or getting a feel for VDI. So, i would like to know that how do i test vdi on my pc? Does any body knows about it? Kindly provide me the correct solution for the above issue.

The issue is that VDI has come a long way very quickly, but based on my experience with three brokers there is still room to improve from the management perspective. Unlike other testing tools, we are completely agnostic as to how you have built your environment, and have the ability to test the platform, no matter what the end user applications are, or how they are accessed, whether streamed or through a custom client.

If a test environment is created the business case should be checked for viability following the testing to ensure VDI is suitable. If you have XP machines running in your ESX enviornment, by all intents and purposes you are running VDI. XP machines in my opinion seem to be the choice for vPC's. On a one to one mapping VDI is straight forward. If you want to test VDI with a connection broker, you should download VDM on your system.

The results of this testing will enable a Request for Information(RFI) or Request for Price(RFP) to be created for the Broker components.I make this recommendation because I believe you will quickly find that VDI requires much more of a planning process than the server-side counterparts. I have been going through a couple of scenarios for a few VDI solutions, and it is not as easy as it may seem. Following the RFI/RFP a fuller test environment which includes the remaining architecture stack should be created to test if a fully featured VDI environment can meet the business requirements.
