OpenWRT or DD-WRT or Default Firmware on Buffalo Router

I have a buffalo router which crashes every 30 mins and rebooting it manually is very frustrating when your whole work is on the internet. I am really fed up with this rebooting process. So i was thinking of installing custom firmware like OpenWRT or DD-WRT. What do you think? Which one should i go with? Please help Guys!

I would not recommend you to install a third party firmware in the router. If you have any problems, try to install the same firmware again but opensource firmware may damage your router. If you think you can experiment with your router you can do it, but you need to be an expert...

Yeah, you must be an expert to experiment with your router. If you want to install the open source firmware on your router you can do it, but make sure you are ready to get it damaged. This is not always the case but may be. So its better to install the same or the updated version for the same model's offical firmware...

Thats right! Also if you install custom firmware, your router is likely to be damaged if everyting doesn't go that well. But whatever happens you will be only at the loosing end, you will get your warranty void. So that may not be a good option...
