    Linksys wrt110 allocate bandwidth issue

    I am having a Linksys wrt110 router with me on which i have connected 4 computers.Everything works fine until one of my friend try to download anything he uses the whole bandwidth and if rest of the three computers works like there are having dial up connection.But onces my friend stop downloading videos then everything works fine.Can anyone suggest me what should i do in this case.

    Try to use managed switches along with your Linksys wrt110 because they have the capability to of handling bandwidth problem or else you can also upgrade your router to business class router which are capable of handling such function too.

    If you want you can also replace your linksys wrt110router with a PC based router which are made from 486 boxes and they are shaper to regulate bandwidth between LAN and DMZ which is a bit costly then managed switch.

    Try to follow the below steps for proper allocation of bandwidth

    1. Make sure the SSID is identical on each access point.
    2. Check and see if your APs will auto-configure their channel settings usually through the web interface.
