To add security for file attachments

I am using previous version of Microsoft Outlook Express. One of the big problems with this is that there isn't much ways of restricting e-mail attachments. Since most viruses are capable of being spread through these attachments, I want to add security through these file attachments.
Is there any way I can do this ? ........help

Re: To add security for file attachments

In order to add security for file attachments, follow the steps below -

    > Go to Tools / Options / Security
    > Check Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus
    > If you try an open one of these attachments, you will see a message
OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail: filename

Initially this can restrict more file types than you would like.

To be able to turn off the restriction for selected file extensions:

    1. Start the Windows Explorer
    2. Go to Tools / Folder Options
    3. Click on the File Types tab
    4. Scroll to the extension you want to change
    5. Click on the Advanced button
    6. Uncheck Confirm open after download
    7. This will immediately allow you to open attachments with that particular extension.

Outlook Attachment Security Administrator 2008 is a Outlook add-ons product from agileera.com, get 4 Stars SoftSea Rating, Microsoft Outlook includes a feature that blocks attachments that are considered unsafe.
If you receive an Email message that contains an attachment that contains one of the file types that are considered unsafe, you may receive the following message: Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments: [...].
Although Outlook blocks access to the attachment, the attachment still exists in the Email message.
