Win32/Tanatos.M virus Can't Cure This One?

hi there

I am using AVG and it detects each and very malicious file from internet for me; but few day's back i got a prompted message that each .exe file have been infected by Tanatos.M or Win32/Heur. Many of these files are backup files which I downloaded are no longer available.

I have no idea what to do next and what to perform on this problem
Please help me in this............

I'd get kaspersky anti-virus 2009, best ive ever used, barely uses ram.

And personally i think AVG sucks, horrible anti-virus, sometimes gave me false alarms of viruses.

If you want a free alternative, I recommend Avira AntiVir. AVG has a history of huge false positives and has a somewhat low detection rate. Avira AntiVir has a significantly better detection rate. So I highly recommend going with that over AVG.

Win32.Tanatos.m spreads itself as an email attachment. Win32.Tanatos.m also gathers contact details on infected computers where it sends a copy of the threat.
