    Issue With A Wireless Router

    hi,
My friend has an old computer with Windows 98, a netgear router for internet. I managed to save my computer wifi when I lived here with a small antenna that uses wifi. I left with my friend and I took the livebox. I went back recently and I would like to restore my computer wifi.
    thank you for your help!!

First I need a clarification, you want to connect the wifi on the old PC to your parent if I understood correctly, and with the livebox, or net gear? why not connect directly to Ethernet or usb?
more do you choose the livebox, or router net gear, but not both one behind the other.
livebox is the router, and is provided for easy installation via the CD, wifi, ethernet, usb.
we must not forget to press the number 1 on the livebox when you ask, several seconds and the wifi light will blink soon, wait for the sync and click continue.
it may be that old PC is guarded in the former connection with the old memory settings, passwords, network connection then it should be fired.
well know it takes 98 to 2 for the management of usb2.
well type the code wifi (wifi key) under the livebox to activate.
    we want to run.
and it says it is blocking us exactly what stage.

So if I understand your PC is under XP, and you had prior to the live box.
take the installation CD of your netgear, putting up the connection automatically.

you will have to turn the former connection of your live box that may need to be still be present in network connection.
you can also do this manually, but you need to know the password that you put avant.quand you were at your parents and you're connected.
In this case you click in panel config wizard wireless network, like this:

put a name at the top, example:
    wifi
and check to manually assign a network key.
click next, and you enter the password.
you finished the procedure, and you reboot.
