    DNS unable to resolve IP address, help

    While i am browsing the web my connection seems to end because i get cannot find server or the web page you are looking for cannot be found,so i check my connection but it says i am still connected but i cannot get any web sites,i carnt even connect to msn or read my emails,it stays like this for ten minutes then disconnects on its own,i then reconnect and all is fine for a short while then it does it again and its like this then all day with no set times it just does it even if i have only been connected a few minutes.This has happened a few times while connected to msn and i found out that msn have a connection repair program so i tryed it and it told me that dns appears unable to resolve ip addreses and then gave me this number 80072ee7,i have tryed contacting my isp server but they keep asking me for more info about it and with me not being a computer expert i carnt tell them any more than i know.i am using windows ex pro windows firewall and avast anti virus,i did have norton antivirus but my isp server told me this was the problem and to uninstall it so i did but it still does it and i didnt have norton on disk to reinstall it,hope someone out their can help me befor i go completly round the bend.thanx hopefuly

    Go into your command prompt on your computer and type in ipconfig. This should set your IP address for you. This always works for me.

    I would start by typing "ping www.google.com" from a command prompt to see if it shows the IP address of www.google.com.

    If it doesn't show the IP address, or displays an error, then you should first check to make sure that you haven't manually changed your DNS settings (if you don't know how to do that, then you didn't change them <G>). If you didn't change the DNS settings, you should contact your Internet provider for assistance, to make sure you are getting the correct list of DNS servers.

    Have you try to set your Local Area Connection IP address and DNS manually.

    In your network setting on the pc, manually put in your ISP dns servers. This is sometimes necessary as the dns cache on the modem fouls up. Once you do that it usually works ok. You could even setup a fully static ip which is no bad thing with wireless.
