PC won't POST with Core i7-3820 on Intel DX79TO motherboard

This is my new brand new configuration with Intel DX79TO Motherboard with an i7-3820. Unluckily I cannot get it to start. When I turn on the power, the fan runs but nothing come up on monitor. Watch Dog Timer Fire flashes Red and after 5 seconds the pc turns off automatically. I didn’t connect any external devices to it. I tried even with different PSU and memory but still the same. When no memory installed, I get beeps 3 times & Stays On. There is no video card at all. Any idea about this issue?

Few days ago I had the same problem and I think that the whole problem is due to the incompatibility between the i7-3820 and the Inter motherboard BIOS. The LED remains on indicates that it is a processor problem. Anyway what version of BIOS installed for your motherboard. Is it the stock version or the later one? I think that the latest is 430. But I have tried that latest BIOS via Intel recover method and that too didn’t help me either. I should search for more now.

Why only a look into the processor? There could also be a cause of RAM or something else. It could be the different speed or frequency RAM sticks, could be a faulty motherboard, faulty BIOS, faulty integrated video chip. You need to take a look at all components. Anything could cause the system not to POST.

As far as I know that the features that were preserved in the DX79TO mobo are excellent and there is no doubt that it can run Core i7 processor. The circuit was reduced phase VRM for the CPU, the system for phase VRM heatsinks (CPU / memory) and are not connected by heatpipes and heatsink PCH also looks thinner still. That if the CPU maintains eight DIMM slots for DDR3 memory Quad-channel supporting up to 64GB. So make sure that you are using a DDR3 Quad-channel memory only. Anything different could lead you to NO POST.

The solution is place the CPU in another board and update the bios to the latest version. If it work, then probably think that you have got a faulty motherboard otherwise send the processor for RMA.

Do you think that processor which you have installed on the motherboard is listed in the compatible processor? Every motherboard has its CPU compatible list. There are different versions of CPU even with the same name. A slight change in serial number could also indicate that the processor is incompatible. Even it is same for the other peripherals like RAM, PSU and a few
