Quantization Range error in intel HD3000

I am facing a problem in my computer’s display setting. Each time I check my quantization setting it shows me “limited “in the box. Each time I try to change the option it reverts me back to the limited option. I heard that the Intel people have not yet came up with an appropriate solution for this problem. Is it true? Am I the only one with this problem?

When I connected my pc to two different devices LCD and plasma TV, I faced the same problem with both the devices. Heard that it’s because of the black level which is unable to get set in the display setting. For your kind information you are not the only one with this problem, Intel has registered lots of complaints regarding their quantization Range setting. I am one of them who reported Intel about this problem. Most of the people are unable to set the black level of their display.

I am too facing the same problem. But my problem can be sorted easily I guess. I have not yet checked my quantization range settings yet, it’s because I can’t find it anywhere. I know it sounds funny but I am a new user. I never used a pc. So please tell me where I can find the quantization range option to set my display properly. Hope so I would not face any problem which the people over here are facing.

It’s not funny at all. If you can’t find the option then its fine. There are lots of people who don’t even know how to start or shut down their pc. It’s very much simple to get your quantization setting.

    1. Go to control panel.
    2. Go to graphics properties.
    3. Advanced mode.
    4. Then display.
    5. Monitor/TV settings.
    6. There you will find your quantization settings.

Here you can set you quantization setting to limited to full.

As expected I cannot find my quantization setting in my control panel, in fact in can’t even find the IT control option. I have a i3 HD2000 intel processor. The only thing visible to my eyes is “Monitor/TV settings not supported”. I have to override the application settings to view the BTB data and then all I need to do is to set the brightness from default to some approximate 12. The control panel without any problem identifies my input card SONY IFB DVI. Now the problem is that I am afraid of the video quality that can get affected due to the brightness settings and all. I never faced any problem with my previous ATI DVI card.

I have been forced to use my older version graphic driver. It’s because the black level issue as mentioned above in most of the post. I have noticed that the black level issue varies with the newer version of graphic driver where as in the older version it works fine. So I just eliminated the new graphic driver and returned it to the retailer and now I am happy with my older version driver.

There must be lots of differences between the older and the newer version without any doubt. As I am concerned I think that the quantization setting must be new and different as we all have never seen it in the older version. When I was using the older version I faced the problem while switching the input on my receiver, my xvYCC settings use to become unselected. But now its fine with the new and the latest version. In case of quantization setting, problems occur in the latest version.

Facing the same problem of black level setting. But in my case initially everything was working fine. Then I upgraded everything and later everything worked well till I rebooted the system. After rebooting, the screen seemed quite dark whereas all my other setting was the same. I think I will complain the technical support and try to get the solution.
