First of all I wanted to tell you that this particular processor is having Socket S1G4 and none of the previous version of the chips would work with the DDR3 ram. The CPU which you are having on the laptop is having the 25 watt TDP model so I don’t think so it will be fruitful if you are using 35 watt. You will get the great Pentium4 range of the performance with this particular processor.

Well AMD Phenom for the laptop is same as Athlon II for the desktop. If you have are looking for Athlon II for the desktop then it will be unbeatable in terms of the prices as well as performance.
In case if you are looking for Turion than it will not be same as of the Athlon cpu. The performance is similar until and unless you are having the L2 cache. There will not be any cost. We know that the cache is supposed to shrink after the time duration. If you are looking to use the chip for the longer period of the time than having more cache is seems to be the good option. Though you will need to pay more for the same.

I have searched a lot on the internet and I have come to know about that the CPU of the AMD laptop are quite slow and however the CPU manufactured by the Intel are better but not having performance as that of the desktop CPUs. However the power consumption of the processor is got reduced.
