Stock i5 2500k cooler stuck on motherboard

Friends, my stock cooler was working well but after that it was the hot weather and the temperature gone to 90F in the room and after that I found that the CPUs been overheating. Now the temperature came back to the normal but I found that the paste his little beat and when I try to put the stock cooler back on then I found that it was popping sound from the right side and the locking method overextended to backside of motherboard. Now all the things are stuck and If I try to force that then it sounds like I am breaking something. Please help me.

Actually that is not the problem. The black pegs are supposed to poke thru in the similar way. It is the way that it locks the heatsink with the motherboard. For locking that with the motherboard, you will have to wind them toward the lock position and after that press down. If you want to unlock that then simply twist that in the opposite way and after that pull it up and that will unlock that. This is the way to unlock it. I hope that this is going to help you.

It will be better for you if you can have a look at the video that how you van remove that. It is available on YouTube. Just search for the title “CPU Intel socket 775 (removing)” and play the very first video that you get from that. You will get a very nice video that will explain that how you can remove it from your motherboard. I am very sure that you will be able to do that easily after watching this video.

It’s common that while inserting the pins to that, a time comes when you feel that you are going to break motherboard and you will find that pulling that out is becoming complex. All you have to do is just twist that gently and it will unlock it from the motherboard. After those firmly grasp and pull and you will find that it comes out easily. This is fitted to motherboard in that way to make it reliable. Its very easy but starters feels fear to do that.

All you have to do is take a small fine-tipped pliers to crush the pins and push them back. But be careful not to record the motherboard. I was doing this often before, but after replacing the refrigerator, I do not care if I ruined the locking mechanism. So it is very easy. Do not worry and just give it a try. I'm sure you will be able to do that easily. Reply back if you have any problems doing so.

If you are not comfortable to do that on your own then don’t take the risk as you can damage some other parts of the motherboard. The best way for you will be to call some person who is expert in computers especially on hardware and then he will do it for you. As they are professional in that, it will not be the problem for then and it will be done very safely.
