suggestions on buying a pc that can be upgraded to gaming pc in future

Hi I am a first year college student and I hold a good interest in gaming. So I wanted to buy a gaming PC, but as gaming PC costs a lot more than a normal PC and as now I don’t have sufficient funds through which I can buy a gaming PC So I thought that I will buy a basic PC for now and when I’ll arrange enough funds I will upgrade it to gaming PC. So I would like to take suggestion from you guys in buying a PC that can be upgraded in future.

Can you please tell me what kind of games you want to play on your PC? As there are some low range PC’s that you can buy and on which you can play most of the basic games. So if you are a basic gamer than you can manage with a basic computer with installing a good graphic card that will play most of the games pretty well.

I can understand your problem, as even I had been to such problem during my early college days when I had great interest in gaming and wanted to buy a gaming PC but due to insufficient cash I was not able to buy a gaming PC so I had bought a basic Pc and then upgraded it later. So can you please tell me what basic configuration you are looking for buying a normal basic PC.

Hi thank you guys for showing your kind interest and giving your feedback. I wanted to play Battlefield 3 and some other similar games that have high graphics and due to which they cannot be played on a basic pc. So I as I said that for now I will buy a basic pc with Intel i5 760, H55m motherboard, 1TB HD, 520W PSU and a Radeon 6790 GPU. Please suggest me a pc with this basic configuration.

Sorry I forgot to mention that please suggest a pc that can be upgraded to a gaming pc in future. As I will be upgrading it to the GPu to a Nvidia GTX560 Twin Fozr and motherboard to a Z68 or P67 depending on compatibility or whichever suits, and CPU to an i7 or Ivy Bridge processor. So please give your suggestions whether this would be a fine thought or not as currently I won’t be able to afford buying a complete new gaming pc.

Hi I think that you should wait till the time you have sufficient cash to buy a gaming pc, as you can buy a better one then. I don’t think that you should try to upgrade from a basic components to a higher one. As that will even cost you more, as you would certainly want to buy a good motherboard, processor, and power supply, that lasts for long, As video cards, RAM, hard drives, DVD drives, etc, can be easily upgraded at any time.
