Unable to install any memory on MSI K9A2 CF

Hello friend, currently I am working on MSI K9A2 CF motherboard and now there is some problem present on this mobo. The configuration of this mobo is AMD 790X Chipset, ATI SB600 Southbridge and V2.61 Bios. Currently I hold two RAM 2x 1024MB G.SKILL PC2-8500 DDR2, and 2x 1024MB OCZ PC2-8500 DDR2. When I try to insert this RAM on any DIMM slot then the slot can’t able to install it. Sometimes the DIMM1 & DIMM3 are worked but the DIMM2 & DIMM4 can’t work. Any help will be appreciates.

Hello, as per you mentioning the problem is actually the DIMM slot is not working correctly. This might be happen in this mobo because the jumper setting of the DIMM over the motherboard is not working correctly. Then I suggest you to first read the manual and after that try to set the jumper pins of the motherboard. This is very risky and complicated task. Then before doing any task makes sure that it will be correctly works or not.

Yep, this is the main reason behind that the DIMM of the slot is not to be detected the RAM. The RAM you have used is DDR2 type and there might be possible that this RAM are not supported the previous set jumper setting. Hence the DIMM1 & 3 are working and other two are not working correctly. If this DIMM1 & DIMM3 are working in this mobo then I suggest you to use this slot. This will be helps you to solve this trouble.

The memory controller of the system motherboard is to be based on the CPU. However the CPU is most of the item responsible for the installation of any hardware devices on the system. This is to be happen most of the time. If the problem is in the insertion of the RAM on DIMM slot, then you need to check that the CPU is correctly works or not. This will be solved by doing the correct jumper setting on this motherboard. This will be helps to solve the trouble.

Hey dude, I have read some articles and in that time article mention that sometimes the BIOS of the system is to be create some problem. Then I suggest you to first check the BIOS of the system which is present on the mobo are correctly work or not. If there is something wrong happen on this BIOS then I suggest you to update this BIOS. This will be helps to solve this hardware insertion problem. Sometimes this kind of BIOS updates solutions work to solve the trouble.

Hey, I also experienced about it. In that time, when I try to insert the Ram on this DIMM slot, then it gives the insertion problem. So, I have little bit nerves about that and I’m little bit worried about whether there is necessary to change this mobo or not. Then I read somewhere that the BIOS reset could be solving this trouble. After that I have done this BIOS reset task in this mobo. Surprisingly it works and probably the problem is solved.

Hey dude, if you still having the same problem. The jumper setting could be the best way to solve this problem. If this can’t help to solve the trouble, then I suggest you to either use a DIMM1 & DIMM3 slot or the other way is to replace it with the other motherboard. This will be the best way to avoid such kind trouble into the system. If you use the current worked DIMM slot then it has to be the temporary solutions where the other solution is permanent and it will be help to improve the performance of the system.
