Fake AMD Athlon II x2 255 processor and heatsink

I lately bought a Athlon II x2 255 CPU for a computer which I was repairing and following nearer examination I observed the Heat Sink did not wrap every part of the processor, fraction of the processor was only enclosed through the fins of the Heat Sink and while I attempted to install it to the computer rapidly shows BSOD and I must shut down. I then returned the processor to whom I purchased it from and they have promoted it to AMD. Does anybody else have came across this incident before?

Apparently this is how AMD is undulating by means of their low end processors. Therefore you actually don't obtain a latest Heat Sink by these low end processor's since you would need to be foolish otherwise extremely naive and inexpert to utilize them, in my modest estimation. Since a tradition builder of computers from the low end toward the lofty end processor's it seems I will have to either purchase additional Heat Sinks intended for low end AMD processors otherwise merely employ Intel meant for low end processor systems. I have emailed AMD regarding this except like up till now they have unsuccessful to dig up back to me.

AS far as I know the low end CPUs (Athlons) won’t provide off much temperature, and as a result, don’t require as much cooling, where AMD can put up for sale the microprocessor cheaper by way of a cheaper heatsink. Wherever the high end processors (Phenoms) provide off additional high temperature and require further successful cooling. For this reason the processor which is in your hand does not require any high end heatsink or cooling system because they are capable to work with any range of heatsink. So you don’t need to worry about that.

As someone said above there is actually much variation from one processor to other. The high end processor much require excellent cooling system like liquid cooling if necessary because they handle large amount of processes at time which affect to produce much amount of heat. The low end is completely differ from this. According the CPU needs the manufacturer sells proper range heatsink with CPU to show the user the actual need of the cooling system. it would be better if you replace the heatsinker only rather than the whole processor.

There is vast amount of difference between the heat produced by the AMD athlon processor and the phenom processor. Therefore the Athlon heatsink is prepared from extruded as well as milled aluminium lump. It’s contemptible to create and will disperse sufficient heat produced by an Athlon by the side of a normal clock. The Phenom heatsink is prepared by the use of a copper bottom, copper heatpipes along with aluminium fins. It costs extra except has a grater thermal indulgence, thus that's why it can go down Athlon temperatures near up to 15C, evaluated to its stock heatsink.

Majority of the heat that the processor generates comes from the middle. Having the edge of the heatsink not completely wrap the processor prepared me doubt at initial as well; except this is one of the causes AMD processors are a superior treaty than the opposition. I've been utilizing this precise similar heatsink on my AMD Phenom II X4 925 for fairly a whilst and the temps have been just in good health just about 30 C. You don't require purchasing whatever thing individual intended for a heatsink except you prepare on doing some exciting overclocking.

I relax easier knowing that I am not the barely one to receive these processor/heat sinks. Even though it does worry me particularly while Speedwayaudio informed that temps fell down dramatically while replacing unique sempron HS (low end processor) through a top end Phenom HS. I consider that the Heat Sinks must be consistent crossways the entire variety except following talking among AMD this is the matter currently. However having a Heat Sink that does not wrap every part of the processor simply does not be seated well with me.
