upgrading cpu on dell desktop help need and thank you.....

hi im not well up on comps but i do alot of gaming etc and my cpu is always between 80-90% and my fan is really pissing me off too as it gets louder here is the spec of my comp, im looking for advice on what cpu is compatable with my dell dimension 5150 that will help me with less cpu usage. im also going too upgrade the ram too 3.5gig which i think would help, also im not sure weather or not too change the chipset as its a RADEON X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory, which i hear borrows ram too function or something. so my basic questions are which cpu would u go for and also what graphics card, im sure a new cpu + ram + graphics card will help me out alot, thanks alot guys/girls in advance.

I would say you to save up for a custom build rather than upgrading the dell dimension 5150. Depending on the kind of chipset that Dell has, it may not even be able to support a dual-core CPU, but I don't know much about the kind of components Dell uses. If you still urge then best is to stick 2gb ram in it and just use it. My friend has the same machine, and the ram made a huge difference in the speed.

ok thanks alot m8, i will try the ram upgrade i was hoping too put a 3.8ghz processor but guess it wont happen now. and i thought the D stood for duel core?

RADEON X300 SE 128MB HyperMemory is not a chipset but a video card that might have come with your dell dimension dm051. My friend also had a Dell XPS 400 and he had since then used it to play video games and have had no trouble with MMOs like WOW and Guildwars. Nor he had any problem with higher end games like Command and Conquer, and even FEAR ran on normal.

yeah it does mate but my cpu is at almost 100% with just 1 java based game? and fan gets slightly louder and its really pissing me off some pcs are silent almost m8
