    Intel i5 2500k vs. Intel i7 2600k.

Hello guys I am running HD6970 and the Motherboard is MSI P67A-GD65. I want to upgrade from the E8500 because I have some issues with it didn’t want to OC without the constant BSOD’s. but it has very good stock speeds. I heard that K series OC’s are better but I don’t think I need them. I use my machine mostly for the gaming purpose so guys can you suggest me a good processor between Intel i5 2500k and the Intel i7 2600k. Please help,

Yeah, there is no description or the clear comparison between this two processor on the internet, I want the best out of these two which can handle the high resolution gaming and the video editing and also audio converting and ripping .Because I want play the games at 1920X1200. And when I upgraded from 4890 to the 6970 the frame rates didn’t change that much. So guys can you tell what will be the speed of 2500k and how faster will be the 2600K compared to the 2600K.

Well dude I will say you guys should go with the 2500K. And get the K series because overclocking on these chips or boards is dead easy. And you will also get one more advantage over this and i.e. the resale value later. So guys get the 2500K because to me it doesn’t seems like you guys have to do anything that needs extra caches and HT, and this is not for the price difference. I am very happy with the working of 2500K.

Well dude E8500 is a 3.16GHZ and where as Intel i5 2500K is a 3.3GHz stock. You have got 140MHz of jump straight away. And clock for clock Sandy Bridge is really very faster and you will have two more core. But for the RAM be more careful because processors doesn’t work very well with the mismatched RAM. I had 2600K and due to some issue I had downgraded to the 2500K I hardly noticed any difference so buddy even in my point of view go with the 2500K.

First of all thanks a lot guys for posting your replies, I was looking for same advanced features over E5800. Because that doesn’t support the high games graphics and the resolution, That’s why I was looking for the Intel i5 2500k and Intel i7 2600k for gaming. I heard that these two supports high resolution and as well as these two enhance the speed of the system. Thanks a lot for giving this important review over these two processor now I am going for Intel i5 2500k after reading the posts. Thank you,
