MSI 790FX-GD70 post FF message all of the sudden

I really hope you can help me. BFBC2 was playing and suddenly my PC was frozen. He respond to nothing and the sound it makes a strange sound cracks. I tried to restart the PC, but all I have "FF" message. So on my laptop Google trying to figure out what was and what I've tried so far: - Clear CMOS (with button and bridge) - Removed the RAM and tried to boot with one stick in the first DIMM. The first did nothing (again FF), but the second did something! "FF" message is gone and it appeared that the PC is booted, but I have not had anything on the screen. I left boot for some reason and I showed "02" on the board and not know what that means. After reset it back to the "FF" message.

    Try this thing out:

    a) Test the CPU in a different system. Not likely. Do not know anyone who could help me with this.

    b) Try different memory sticks. Would have to buy those. Should I buy second hand or get a set of 4 GB for approx 40 euro?

    c) RMA the CPU.
I bought it on eBay. The vendor is in Hong Kong, so I was hoping this would be the last resort. I will if I have to, but as you said, I cannot be sure he is dead. I will contact the seller and tell him about the situation.

I noticed a little over a year I put together a computer from a friend of mine. I looked up the receipt and say M4A785TD-V ASUS EVO. According to the Asus site this motherboard supports the 1055T (95W). So I think I'll give you a call tomorrow and ask it to update the BIOS would suppose, but that should not be too hard to just put the file on a USB stick and go into the bios and use the "flash bios" option " no? I mean, it's the same with the right GD70? Is there any chance of damaging your computer? (Destroy RAID array or something?)

So I just got home from my friend. I made a backup of your computer. Updating the BIOS through the tool flash the bios (ASUS) worked like a charm! (Since version from 410 to 2105). Put the computer in RAID mode and matrix has been detected without problems. Then I put the 1055T X6 instead, thinking it will not work. And plugged it began. There are no problems what so ever.

There's an old saying - if it is not broke, do not fix it. Possibly with history of events you can see a history of what and where is. Sometimes it is a situation of playing a good topic to another, if desired, will not happen again. I would suggest enjoying working properly and not drive you crazy to find out, if a large amount of investment funds was compatibility, drivers, duplicate drivers, registration, install bad, biographies, peripheral conflict, believe it or not, sound card , a USB plug possibilities list continues. But, for now is all good and work history of the event can be a place to go and why? I have read here, you have seen nothing in the manager to design a look into the problem to design manager. If everything is ok, well if you see a problem in the catch. Again I thought simply enjoy your success! If a problem occurs in the future is to develop manger and look and / or the event's history.

I could ask my friend if he can borrow a stick tomorrow, but why the memory of being at fault here? Works very well with the X3 720. He looked at the event logs, but atleast not anything special at the time was in the X6 1055T or crashed PC. Should I run memtest86 tonight? I did this not long ago and made five runs complete without errors. No configuration changes since, so I'm at a loss here. What if the memory of my friend (also from OCZ, OCZ Gold Edition DDR3 1066) work? What does that say about my memory? (1600 MHz OCZ Platinum CL7; 16004GK if I'm wrong).

Yeah, I understand the experience, and frustrations. Glad you are now in place and understand the frustration in the updates in question. I also experienced, and I'm about to install my first SSD and HDD combo makes me crazy, because it will be new to me, learning is a continuous thing. I almost got the 1055T. Yes, my 1090T SER can do the same FSB / OC the 1055T is a nice core 6. If like me, read the core 6 is not fully utilized. I checked and found that all 6 cores stay. Like AMD System Monitor to use is. You might be interested in it. Shows CPU core usage, GPU and memory statistics. I played around with OCing, but am different than the X3 720BE took. I cannot seem to notice when Turbo is activated? I'm sure the functions but when playing a game, for example, is running in three power turbo mode? But that is a different matter. I bet you're like me and looking for the new AM3 + Tips to quit. Would hold off on buying a chuck of 6 then I read that AM3 CPUs will be compatible with AM3 + tables. Update never stops just deep pockets. I have not.
