There is no reason why you be not supposed to run both at once off the PS2 port. I do not be acquainted with if anyone is performing it however I would have thinking that you would not be the initial. The merely object I do not like regarding this kind of thing is that the adapters create the link stand out thus far that it place a large number of leverage on the port. This information will help you to get closer to your solution.

    Re: PS2 Splitter in Gigabyte GA-870-UD3 - PS2 motherboard

I have purchased in a splitter cable as well as I will attempt it out. My merely worry is that I have read that those things are designed mostly for laptops where the extra two pins on the ps2 socket are devoted to the mouse. I assume the bios sorts it the entire out. The IT8720 chip on the Gigabyte GA-870-UD3 - PS2 motherboard appears to support two distinct ps2 ports. I assume it the entire be on how the socket is cabled as well as the bios on the Gigabyte GA-870-UD3 - PS2 motherboard. In the end there is merely one way to show it. No, I require the serial port for a modem. I am going to be running Linux as well as interior win modems are bad news.

I have a Gigabyte GA-870-UD3 - PS2 motherboard, as well as in my experience, utilizing a PS/2 splitter from the combo PS/2 port does not come into view to effort. I as well had to attempt 2 different USB->PS2 adapters, as the initial one I utilized was not picked up by the Gigabyte GA-870-UD3 - PS2 motherboard until after boot, so I could not get to the BIOS, the second one I got efforts okay. If anybody does have 2 effecting PS/2 ports functioning from the Combo PS/2 ports please perform say so, so that people make out if it is in fact do-able.
