Which AMD processor is equivalent to intel core i5 750/760?

I am thinking of building a system with the intel i5 750 or possibly the i5 760. In order to save the money i am also taking AMD as another option. Also i don't want to experiment with the processor by doing the overclocking stuff. I wanted to use it for playing some games and some download stuff. So i just wanted to know are there any processor which is equivalent to the intel core i5 750/760 processor if it is there then please do let me know as soon as possible.

The probable processor which comes close to the i5 processors are the AMD Phenom II X4. It has quad-core Phenom II X6 chips which will provide a great multimedia experience and the various applications can be made to run with much ease. While the intel core i5 is the latest by the intel built with the intel i7 almost runs like the intel i7. With facilities like turbo boost and hyper threading. So if you are looking to be economical then you can definitely go with the AMD Phenom II X4. It will not disappoint you.

If you are looking for the gaming then i would probably advice you to go with the AMD 965BE model. This model is best as compared to the i5 processor. It supports the full x16 x16 graphic cards as compared with the intel core i5 which gives x8 x8. Also with the presence of the AM3 socket AMD processor will have a longer platform than the intel cards. Probably it is a little more expensive then the core i5 but it will not disappoint you. So i would like you to go ahead with the AMD 965BE.

I would definitely go with the intel core i5 at any point of time. With the turbo boost technology it is provided to give a much faster gaming experience than the AMD. AMD according to me is slow as compared to the intel. The price difference can be little but that should not come on the way of performance. Intel's chips are much faster than the other cards because they can run faster on the single threaded games and most of the games today support single threading technology. So i think that you must not compromise on the performance by opting to AMD and instead select the intel core i5.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. After looking at your responses even i did some search in the internet and ultimately found out that intel is a bit ahead of the AMD processors and also the price is not an issue with me so i will better stick with the intel core i5. I just needed to know whether are there any AMD processors that will be equivalent to the intel cards. So finally i got my answer thanks for your efforts it has helped me out.
