Keyboard not working on ASUS P5B

I was having Windows vista on my desktop. Recently, I have upgraded my motherboard to ASUS P5B with its advanced features. ASUS P5B has been mainly developed for Core 2 Duo types of system as they are developed on new chipset. The socket is LGA775 and it has memory up to 8GB. After the upgradation when I started the system there were problems with the keyboard. The keyboard was not working and suppose if the keyboard was working then also it was not functioning properly. I need a solution so that I can fix this problem.

If the keyboard is not working then there might be connection problem. If the keyboard is connected to the computer via cable then you need to check that the connector at the end of cable is inserted correctly. The keyboard might be not working because of debris. You can use pressurized duster which is developed for cleaning computer peripherals. You should also make use of cotton ear swab dipped in an alcohol to clean sticky spots between keys.

The keyboard might be connected to the system with the help of cable and inserted to the USB port. You need to check that the USB port to which the keyboard is connected is working properly. Due to dead USB port they keyboard might fail to work. You can check the keyboard by connecting it into another USB port of the system. If the keyboard is working then the USB port to which it was connected might be dead. You need to check that the keyboard connector pins are not bent o broken. Any damage to the pins might cause problems in working.

The keyboard failure might occur due to the driver or updates. If the keyboard driver is not installed then it may also prevent keyboard from working. If the updates are not installed for the devices then it may also cause problem. You can also try uninstalling the software for the keyboard by going to the Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove programs. After uninstalling the software for the device you may need to restart the system. After restarting the system you may insert the original software disc into the drive and install the keyboard software. After the installation restart the system. You can also download the update and driver form the windows website.

Thanks for providing me the solution. From the above given solution I came to know that there was not drivers installed for keyboard on the system. So I downloaded and installed driver for my keyboard. After the installation of keyboard driver my keyboard started working. Few days before I have activated sticky keys for accessibility. Now I want to disable the sticky keys but I am unaware of the steps to disable it. I need a solution for disabling sticky keys.

If you have activated sticky keys on the keyboard then it provides you with the accessibility feature. You can disable the sticky keys very easily by following the below steps:
    1. You need to press the shift key from the keyboard for 5times. After pressing the shift keys for 5 times a new window will appear.
    2. You need to click on the setting button. Select accessibility options window from the keyboard tab.
    3. You need to check on the checkbox next to sticky keys to disable it.
    4. Click on the sticky keys settings button and uncheck on use shortcut checkbox.
    5. Click on the apply button and then click on ok button to save the changed settings. Now the sticky keys are disabled.
