GeForce 9300 onboard vs Core i3 550

Which of the two will be better for me i have been using a customized desktop sine last two years and now i am planning to buy a new one, Here i am confused which of the two from core i3 550 and the onboard 9300 will be the best for me. I have heard that the core i3 530 is better than the C2D but i3 can be overclocked a bit more. Suggest me a setup which should be high powered without a video card will work.
