    i7 950 Cooling Problems

    Hello everyone....
I am having a cooling issue with my i7 950 processor. I have simply upgraded my PC. Before upgrading the PC i was able to use my old PC with Dual core processor. But when i upgraded my PC with the latest i7 processor, I have just put it all in the SFF Silverstone Sugo SG04 case. I thought I might have cooling issues due to the small case, but it is not the problem. The case has 2x 120mm fans at the front, and nothing at the back. The GTX480 temps are generally fine (Say around 35-40 when normal, 60-70 under load). However the CPU is having cooling problems. Don't have any idea what to do??? Please help me out...

Yes, there is 2x120mm fans in the front. I have created a shield like thing below the fan which is located at the top. So all the hot air is unfortunately directed to the CPU. But still there is an issue of hot air that is not being drawn out of the back of the case. The heat sink is properly fitted and all the settings are perfect but still the problem occurs. Tell me what to do...

I think the same cooler should be used with a bigger fan. If we use this then it should provide more airflow to the computer components such as the CPU VRM, the memory sticks. After following this their will be less heat absorbed by it and it will be comparatively cool. Hope this information helps you to solve your query and your processor will remain bit cooler than usual.

According to me, you should add cooler master hyper 212+.. It is the best cooler and it tries to cool down the the heat which is generated by the system during the process. There are also other two processor coolers like corsair h50 and h70. Both of them are good coolers. Also the arctic cooling seems to be a good option for cooling...

Hey guys i will be giving a solution for this issue. Currently i am having Zalman CNPS10X Extreme.. And seriously it is a bad one. After that I got a Scythe Slip Stream PWM fan, and it is equally ok but cools a little better than the earlier one.. When it is at top speed it only hits 40dB, 110cfm. It does not matter how loud the fan spins and makes noise. If it does you just replace it.. The only way i think is of "Water cooling".. It is definitely the best way for cooling but also it is the most expensive one. I don't have any idea how good the h50 or h70 are, but performance wise they are not better than this..

Most probably the issue is with the ram.. You can simply run memory test before you boot up to burn an iso. I had the same problem. I simply ran memory test and found out the problem.. It was related to the OCZ ram. The OCZ RAM was not compatible, so i went and got corsair ram for it and it fixed the problem . From that time i couldn't get any OC stable with the OCZ ****. You can also try for loading optimized defaults in BIOS. You can try this infact you should try this out as it also worked for my friend who had the similar issue . Any ways it is not going to affect your system.. Hope you are understanding this. You must try this and i am sure it will work for you too.

You can use OCCT or DOS based system? It may be that they sent you a refurbed proc having the same issue with it. Please dont set your vscore on your own let the board do the work.. some of the VIDS are higher than 1.2v. Gigabyte motherboards are simply great. They can detect VIVID easily and will also auto set the vscore. After trying this you will definitely be able to solve the problem.. I think you should install a Water Cooling Kit in your system and also upgrade the cpu fan of the system..
