24GB 1600mhz vs 12GB 2000mhz for i7 980x @5ghz?

Hi there, I am looking to buy a new motherboard and processor. But I am thinking to build a super high configuration for my computer. I am thinking to buy an Asus Rampage 3, intel core i7 980 5 GHz But there is confusion between the RAM. I cannot able to decide which RAM I have to place 24 GB or 12 GB. I also want to know what is the difference between the 1600 MHZ or 2000 mhz ram. Please help me.

If you want to make very high configuration of computer then you can use the 24 GB of ram which provides to you higher speed of computing computer. And you are asking about the 1600 mhz and 2000 mhz, this means a speed of the RAM on which is working . But you can also use a 12 GB of RAM and 12 GB memory not a less memory.
