Have you been burned by ATI Drivers

Recently i burned my video card , so I had to buy a new one. A computer specialist advised me to ATI Radeon HD4670 1GB Gigabyte DDR3 or Sapphire ( and there is the question of how to choose a company ). I 've never had a Radeon , so scared to buy them and also what I heard different opinions on teamat Radków that do not work like some games . In general, i want to leave a good card for gaming and watching movies . What can you advise me. Pleas help.

Trying to uninstall the graphic drivers ( with driver cleaner to clean ) and reinstall the drivers that you had with the graphics card ( on CD). Then the problem arises only when intensive applications ? Not on the desktop or another ?Otherwise :
    - Make sure the power supply voltages ( OCCT do a test to see variations ) .
    - Make sure the frequency ( with ATITool , for example) . At the same time watching the temperature .
    - If it happens randomly verify there are no false contacts cable DVI / VGA and if the graphics card is clipped in its harbor.

ATI and NVIDIA do not devloppe operating systems for embedded graphics solutions on laptops .They provide the chipset that's all. This is the site of the manufacturer of the PC need to update the drivers. The update from ATI or NVIDIA website may cause irreversible failure. I went to the Compaq site downloaded the appropriate update for the drivers update and I execute everything but this does not work.

I first thought to suggest an updated kernel to version 2.6.34 but the problem is the fan in the BIOS and drivers as free do not make better drivers Qued landlords on issues ATI fans are unlikely to be immediately resolved by updating the kernel". It must be a fan problem , or at home is the graphics card overheating if the fan does not break in accordingly , I did a search on google about my problem and I fell on the same stack as me.

I had manifold GSOD's, brown screens, blue screens, red screens, orange screens. You name it I had the colors of manifold errors. I could not even play any game longer than 5 minutes without a driver crash. And 6 out of 10 times when the driver crashed it locked up the entire system require a hard reset. And we know what that does to hard disks. So after two reformat's and reinstalls of the entire OS and manifold driver reinstalls. I had to go back to the 10.5's. They seem to be the best and the majority error free, at least for me. And I will not move from these unless there is clear proof that the new drivers do not collide.
