A new utility is available for official AMD dual-core processors general public, the Athlon 64 X2. This utility Amd Dual-Core Optimizer installed a specific driver himself called Special Tools Driver. This utility also modifies the boot.ini file system used to provide information booting Windows. In the file boot.ini the parameter "usepmtimer" is added at the end of the line as below.
