    Hello Guys,

I have to discuss one of my confusion related to the Intel processors. I have to upgrade my computer system. But I am totally confused between two Intel processors, i.e Intel Xeon W3520 and another is Intel Core i7-920. I am unable to find the best processor among these two processor. I wonder if you are able to let me know your suggestions over Intel Xeon W3520 and Core i7-920. I am waiting for your reply.

A Core i7-920 is a 64 bit microprocessor produced by Intel. Technically, it may belong to the family Nehalem or Westmere. The Core i7 models are initially quad-core but have subsequently been translated into dual-core models (Arrandale) and hexa-core (Gulftown). The Core i7 socket use two different models for LGA1366 Bloomfield (Core i7 9xx) and for models LGA1156 Lynnfield (Core i7 and Core 8xx i5).

The Intel Xeon W3520 is a four-socket and more proficient quad-core processor, consisting of two dual core Core2 structural design silicon chips on a single ceramic module, similar to Intel's Xeon 5300 series Clovertown processor module. Intel claims this processor series Xeons provides more than twice the as Intel's previous generation 7100 series.

The range Core i7 is the 9x0 segment high-end outside Gulftown. The revision D0 appeared after the marketing of the Core i7 975 XE and has led to a slight redesign of the range, the Core i7 XE 940 and 965 respectively have been replaced by the 950 and 975 XE models, while the 920 has also received This new revision. The consumption charge decreases slightly and allows a better stability for overclocking the processor.
