DX48BT2 Memory issue on Windows 7

Recently i had installed Windows 7 on my system. Just some few days back i had purchased a new 2Gb Ram. I had bought the same Ram that was already in my machine. Now i have 3Gb ram in my machine, but for some reason the they are running at different speeds and my computer seems to be crashing. All 4 chips are OCZ Platinum PC12800 DDR3 1600MHz. Can any one tell me that why i'm having memory issue on my Windows 7 system? Or is it a motherboard issue? Any one have any idea about it? Let me know your thoughts on the above issue. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to see if you have change something on the hard drive's jumper? As long as the BIOS of the Intel board your are looking at allows enough adjustment for the RAM voltage it should work out fine as far as RAM running or not , but don't expect anything fabulous performance wise from an Intel MB. As long as you can boot the computer from a floppy disk or CD, if you copy the utilities to such a disk, you can run the diagnostic tests.

Your Intel Intel DDR3 Motherboard Memory maximum RAM capacity: 8GB. The X48 uses DDR3 memory, and although Intel does not expressly mention DDR2 as an option, several manufacturers have produced DDR2-based X48 motherboards. The X48 also upgrades official dual-channel DDR3 speeds from 1333 MHz on the X38 to a full 1600 MHz, and with 25.6 GB/s of memory bandwidth.

Could there be a possibility that the memory is actually there and the OS is just not reading it correctly? According to the product sheet it's programmed as DDR-1333 with 9-9-9-24 timings at 1.6V. AFAIR this 1.6V standard is violating the JEDEC specifications and may explain the auto-detection as 1066. If you want to build a system on one and utilize 1600MHz memory, there is a 4GB (2x 2GB) installed memory limit. Please verify the SPD timing programming via CPU-Z. Please also try 1.6V memory supply voltage.
