By reducing the voltage applied to the CPU (vCore), greatly reduces its heat dissipation and therefore emissions of heat in your case. This feature, coupled with a dynamic control of fan speed, presenting the interest of reducing significantly the noise your fan, turning it slowly when heat dissipation is lower. Finally, this allows to increase the lifespan of your cpu and lower your power consumption.

In addition to owning an Athlon 64, you must also have a motherboard that supports this function. The motherboard socket 754 and 939 have this support. You must therefore check this point and be sure that this feature is enabled in the bios.
