EPoX EP-8NPA SLi Onboard Ethernet issue

    Hiya,

I have issues which involves the onboard LAN to work with my Linksys Etherfast 5 port work group hub on my EPoX EP-8NPA Sli s754 MB.When I connect the cat5 cable directly from my cable modem to the on board LAN no discrepancies, when i introduce a hub getting a constantly flashing "Network Cable Unplugged". have tried using all 5 ports on the hub.also used both the 6.56 & 6.69 nForce4 drivers to see no changes.Does any one here to resolve the problem with my LAN

    any ideas would be brilliant..!!
    thanks....

All right If it's still under warranty, go ahead and replace it if it's not just a driver issue, Or disabled in the bios But I wouldn't consider the failure of the on board NIC to be fatal.

I would suggest you one option If you can, persuade the port speed in the Linksys to 100 it's peak.Ensure that every interface is varying and can be finicky. I often noticed in time again where ports will not come up until the duplex and port speed is set. AUTO sux.I have been trying to check your manual but the download did not work from the Linksys (Cisco) site.

If its a newer motherboard with an nforce chipset or similar i would use the on board. If its an older motherboard PCI all the way. When i had this the first thing I did was update all the drivers and bios to the latest. I set a static ip that should work on the router, i tried a different cable and a alternate port on the router. I actually went out and bought another Ethernet card, and it worked pretty good with that. I assume the issues with the actual board, but in all honesty, right now I'm a happy person
